Any ideas on how to do commissions?

The last time I did it I got scammed and lost all of my money and needed to find a way to make funds. Along with job searching as I have no job at all after college. It has been a struggle for me as I tried to find ways to make money without a credit card. How do I start an art and animation commission along with many things I should start with?

Just stuck in a few months without anything to do and feeling drained of doing some artwork for a change. Any tips on how to motivate and focus on 3d animation?
